Making good decisions generally requires getting the big picture right. If you start with an accurate "big picture" you have a hope of choosing effective supporting implementing strategies.

Dr. Smalley's presentation does a great job of presenting the big picture of the Terawatt challenge we face as a planet over the next couple of decades.
Why try to hide it, I am a nuclear energy advocate and I believe that supplying more on the world’s need for cheap and affordable clean power should come from increased use of improved forms of fission nuclear energy. We can build better, less waste generating, and more economical nuclear energy.
Edward Teller, the founding director of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, wrote his final paper a month before his death on the subject of the advantages of Thorium Molten Salt Reactors and the contribution this style of less polluting nuclear energy could make to achieving energy independence while reducing the need to generate green house gases.
