Penny D. Sackett is a physicist, astronomer, and former chief scientist for Australia (2008–11). Sackett has held a research fellowship at the Princeton Institute for Advanced Study and appointments at the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute in the Netherlands and at the Australian National University.
