Bina Agarwal is director and professor of economics at the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi University. She has held distinguished positions at Harvard, Princeton, Minnesota, and Michigan, among other renowned universities. She is the first woman president-elect of the International Society for Ecological Economics and helped found the Indian Society for Ecological Economics. In 2008, the president of India awarded her the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honors.
