Catarina is the Executive Chair of Sanitation and Water for All, a global multi-stakeholder partnership that is working towards realizing SDG 6 of universal access to water and sanitation through concerted action at the international, regional, and local level. Prior to this, de Albuquerque was the first UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights to water and sanitation, and in this role produced ground-breaking reports relating to the realization of the human rights to water and sanitation.
