Catherine O’Brien is an associate professor in the Education Department of Cape Breton University, Nova Scotia. She coined the term “sustainable happiness” at the Second International Conference on Gross National Happiness in 2005. In addition to the university course that she developed for Cape Breton University, O’Brien cocreated an online course on sustainable happiness for the general public.
