Chris Ryan is Professor and Director of the Victorian Eco-Innovation Lab at the University of Melbourne in the Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning. From 1996-2004, he was foundation professor of Design and Sustainability at RMIT University and then Director of the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics at Lund university, Sweden. In 2002 he worked for the United Nations Environment Program as an author of the Global Progress Report on Sustainable Consumption for the Johannesburg UN world summit. He is an Editorial Board member for the Journal of Industrial Ecology and a visiting professor at Delft University, the Netherlands. He is chief investigator for the Visions and Pathways 2040 project.
