Eckart Wintzen (1939–2008) was an unconventional Dutch entrepreneur and a pioneer in the field of sustainability. He built BSO/Origin, an IT company of 6,000 employees with offices in 21 countries, and was one of the first to publish an annual environmental report. After selling his software business in 1996, Wintzen initiated Ex’tent Green Venture Capital.
