Harry C. Boyte is a Senior Scholar in Public Work Philosophy at Augsburg College, and a Senior Fellow at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. In 2012 he served as Coordinator of the American Commonwealth Partnership, created on invitation of the White House Office of Public Engagement. The Partnership worked to develop strategies to strengthen higher education as a public good in the anniversary year of the Morrill Act, creating land grant colleges. Boyte’s most recent book is Democracy’s Education, a collection of essays on how educators can revitalize the democratic narrative and purpose of higher education.
