Hilde is a post-doctoral research fellow and lecturer, based at the Environmental Policy group, Wageningen University (the Netherlands). She holds a PhD in environmental sociology/anthropology. Her expertise is on marine governance, with particular focus on informational modes of decision-making, and processes of inclusion and exclusion. Her research interests include innovative arrangements in (re) organizing sustainability of global value chains. Hilde serves on the board of SUPO, a small not-for-profit organization working to support environmentally responsible, socially accepted, low-cost, and low-tech solutions in peri-urban areas, especially in Africa.
