Kate is a Master’s student at Australia National University, pursuing a degree in Environmental Management and Development with a University Medal. She has been awarded the Tiri Tiri Prize for academic excellence in the program. Also a Chartered Accountant, Kate works for Windlab, a renewable energy development company. Kate developed a passion for scuba diving while living in Indonesia in 2015, and reef conservation is an issue particularly close to her heart. She has spent time volunteering at Marine Conservation Philippines, where she developed a keen interest in the complexities of decentralised MPA governance in the country.
