Martha W. Gilliland held faculty and administrative positions in six institutions of higher education including vice president (University of Arizona); provost (Tulane University); and chancellor (University of Missouri–Kansas City). She is currently vice president, Research Corporation for Science Advancement. Gilliland was a member of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology from 2001–2008. She also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the University of Arizona Medical Center and of Black & Veatch Corporation.
