Xuemei Bai is a Professor of Urban Environment and Human Ecology at Fenner School of Environment & Society, Australian National University. Her research focuses on urbanization, understanding cities as complex evolving systems, cities and climate change, system innovation, and sustainability transition. She is an appointed member of Science Committee of Future Earth, where she is leading the development of Cities Knowledge Action Network. She served as the Vice Chair of the Science Committee of the Human Dimensional Program for Global Environmental Change, and as a Lead Author for the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment and Global Energy Assessment.
