Yifat Susskind, MADRE’s executive director, worked for several years as part of a joint Israeli-Palestinian human rights organization in Jerusalem before joining MADRE. She has written extensively on international development and women’s rights. In 2007, she authored the widely circulated MADRE report, Promising Democracy, Imposing Theocracy: Gender-Based Violence and the US War on Iraq.
